Default love my guitar

Hello all

I took this shot of my guitar on the balcony. For the composition, I tried to align the guitar fret with the rule of thirds. I notice the slight warp in perspective on the wood planks on the left. I probably should have stood up on a chair to get farther from the subject to correct that distortion.

I did some post processing on this image..a slight S-curve for contrast and a little bit of a warming color balance.

My question: Any comments about the overall composition? What about the exposure? histogram shows an even distribution with no clipping. Any post processing ideas to make it better? thx for viewing!

I like the warm tones and the idea of the wood of the guitar against the wood of the decking and the brown leaves add yet another layer of texture. I would have preferred to see the whole guitar as the shape of a guitar is so visually pleasing. With part of the guitar body missing my eyes want to drift off the edge in search of it.

I think just a little bit more contrast would make this pop and bring out even more texture.

Agreed that a little more warming would be nice.

Love the composition. Excellent. If the entire guitar had been in frame I wouldnt have looked twice at this.

I agree with the comment above that the photo would have been a lot better if you have included the guitar's whole body in the frame. With the current composition, my eyes are directed more toward the wood and the leaves.

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I agree...some more warm tones and contrast do brings out the shot even more. As for the composition, I felt that the hidden guitar body created some mystery but I also see the point about leading the eyes off the edge of the picture.

Thanks again for your comments.

I like this picture very much. Everything about the composition is great and the fact the guitar is out of frame at the bottom makes this picture unique. If we always played by the rules, we would never get to see how beautiful and creative breaking them can be. You broke them well here and the guitar is just fine as is. I like the dimension the leave add to this picture and the wood on wood is great. I kinda wish the wood was richer, but that is something that is part of the wood, which some might argue makes it more beautiful because it is so natural.

I like the picture alot, thanks for sharing it!
