Default A Symbol Of Love... Do Comment...

Hello..

Here's a shot from me during I got nothing to do at home.. This beautiful rose was a gift from my mom.. Since it's red and beautiful, I put my white gold diamond ring on top of the rose..

So what do you think of this shot?? Is there anything that I can upgrade to make a nice picture?? BTW, it's new for me to take this sort of shots.. As I normally love taking self potraits and candids potraits.. Any comments are very useful for me..

Thanks for viewing

I love the focus and the comp with the flower and ring combo... but the white background is throwing me off...

Also, very nice for your mom to give you a flower like that

it's a nice idea.....

but, your ring is a bit lost.....a closer crop would have made it more prominent....i also think you might have gone with one solid color in your background.....the red along the bottom half of your frame is stealing your rose's thunder.....and last but not least......vignettes should be used with a very light hand....this one is a bit much and "dirtying" up your frame.....

i know the flower is probably gone by now, so it would be difficult to recreate your image.....but, this is a learning process and hopefully will guide you in your next shoot....with this image as it is....try the crop, remove the vignette and see how you like it......

Much nicer without the vignette, the ring has also become a bit more visible. I don't think the white background is a problem.

I also vote solid background, either the white or the red. And no vignette--really draws the attention back to the ring.
happy shooting!
