Default playing with the lines

I took this shot of some railings a couple of days ago and wasn't sure how I felt about it when I got home and looked at it again.
As is probably clear I was playing with leading lines, but as is also probably clear they don't really lead to anything. However I still quite liked the sort of fan like impression the shot gives and thought I would open it to critique and see what you chaps and chapettes thought.

I'm interested in thoughts on composition primarily but here's the exif anyway, and of course any comments on the black and white conversion or anything else generally would be greatly appreciated

Exif:
Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 1/4000
Aperture: f/3.2
Focal Length: 35 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: -0.7 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

railing b&w

Intruiging point of view here, makes me think and keep on looking at this geometrical shape trying to figure it out . Nice shadows. Makes it more interesting. The BNW conversion is nice. i feel it suits this kind of pic. I normally do more contrast with my bnw.

I appreciate your attempt to highlight the lines and patterns in this shot. Great shadows too. In b/w photos, I tend to be more particular with the contrast and I think this shot has to be improved further in that aspect.

Cheers!
