I like the color contrast. It could use a bit of straightening to my eye. Tilting to the right slightly is throwing off the balance. Adding the delicate flower softens the hardness of the ceramic. I also think some coffee in the cup would give the photo more life.

Straightening the photo is an obvious step; you may also want to think about whether the subjects need so much space above and below them (breathing room is one thing but they look rather lost in all that dark space at the moment). As far as I can see, the focus is also a bit iffy. Since the shutter speed was 0.8s, I presume you were using a tripod but probably still got a bit of camera shake from pressing the shutter.
Technical details aside, you need to think about the arrangement of the objects. In particular, why did you pick that position for the handle of the cup and for the flower? Neither is necessarily wrong but I would have been inclined to have the handle more to the left (presenting more of its side profile) and to have moved the flower down (so its colour is separated from the pattern on the jar behind it). I agree with Freezeframe about the idea of adding coffee as well - that would make it more like a scene from life and less like some objects stuck together on a table. Wulf |
