Highway to Hell!

I shot this at a jamming session last night and wanted to get views on whether the picture "works" at all. Also, is the post processing overdone? I wish I had waited a bit to let the guy in the background move but I really liked this expression on his face so I decided to keep the picture.

Hi, I think you should not have cropped the head.

I like it, seems to be a bit of noise but that was probably unavoidable in the lighting. It does suck about the guy in the bg but the expression on the guitarists face is great. I think the PP suits it. Nice work.

Thanks Chris! yes, the lighting was too low and I really dont like using the flash. Actually, I am not very sure about how to use the in built flash on my camera. Always seems to ruin the pictures that I take using the flash.

I agree... but I was just trying to remove as much of the guy in the background as possible

You are right.. the look on your main subjects face is great... the shot is good overall... and the processing... maybe just about right...

in regards to the guy in the back... but maybe you should play with a layer and blur him out and then bring the main focus back in (but i dont know if youve experimented with that)

Oh, btw.. I love how the guitar came out!

Actually, I havent experimented much with layers on photoshop partly because I am not that good at it. I could post the original image (without the head cropped out) in case any one wants to give some different post processing a go.
