Default Water droplets

Here's a pic of water droplets on a leaf that I shot in my mom's garden. What I want to know is whether the focus is too spread out or is it fine? I am asking because I dont have a macro lens (yet ) and this was shot with the 18 55mm kit lens. Is the tone in the picture fine or would a "cooler" tone give it a more soothing look?

EXIF info
Camera: Canon EOS 450 D
Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 41 mm
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
ISO Speed: 400
Flash: Did not fire

Thanks for looking and for your comments!

Maybe DoF is slightly too shallow, while tones are good.
Overall I think it's a good capture, maybe you could brighten it up a little.

The focus appears to be fine for this shot, but the amount of noise in the image is actually making DOF seem more shallow than it really is. Noise tends to reduce image clarity and sharpness and makes images appear softer and less in focus.

Cooling down the image with more blue would make it more soothing. One thing that might help is getting rid of the beige/tan color in the upper right and replace it with the dark mottled green from the lower left (under the leaves).

Do you have a tripod? If you're interested in macro photography a good tripod is a must have.

Thank you Chrean and Samanax for your comments.

I have tried brightening up the image a bit and "cooling" it down as well. Do you think its any better now? I am however, not aware of how to replace the beige colour as suggested by Samanax. Could you please tell me?

I do have a tripod but its not any good and I have a new one on my shopping list as soon as I can afford to buy it.

I actually prefer the original edit.

Which photo editor do you use?
