Talking Cropping help, rowboat ride in Vietnam

Vietnam 2010 Ricky 981

I am new to all things photography but took this photo on a rowboat trip I went on in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. I was very hard to take a straight shot so was just wondering what people thought about the composition and if I should crop the photo at all. Also any help with any other edits I could make to this photo would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice. I will take it very graciously

Imho your problem is not the crop: I would like to see more of this shot, not less.
The overall soft look of this capture and its lack of a bit of light, a trigger of flash would possibly have added detail and drama to this one.

Its actually quite nice. @chrean was right, I too would like to see more of the picture (zoom out) and a little off-center. The palm fronds actually are good leading lines towards the rower, and if you'd zoomed out, the edge of the boat will also do the same. Great job!
