Default Product photography

Hello, this is my first attempt to product photography.

My lighting setup is very basic, just a clamp lamp with a 250W photo flood bulb, and a diffuser with stand. Just testing the water as far as lighting goes before going to invest more cash into it. Any suggestion, critiques and comments are more than welcome and accepted.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Cris.

Only one downfall, I do not like the reflection, but all in all its a neat photo and nice lighting!

Technically, pretty well done. I'd like a more interesting composition, though. Maybe shooting from higher up and from at angle?

Thanks for the comments.

Unfortunately the current (extremely) rigged setup dd not allow me to get a different angle. I'm still in the process of figuring out exactely what setup will be best for product photography. Something a little more than a diffuser and a clamp lamp....

Maybe a tent or a shooting table and some softboxes will do...until then I have to mess around with what I have available in the house.

Yesterday I tried with a different model and here's how it came about:

I think this composition is much more interesting . Looks like you need to narrow down your aperture, though - the rear of the car isn't sharp.

Thanks for the input....Have to check my EXIF upstairs but I believe that my Tamron 90mm was wide open for that shot....memory is misfiring, guess too much shoveling today and not enough photography.....

Back on the "studio set" tomorrow....
