Default help with composition

I am working on figuring out how to shoot this house - today was attempt one. It was a cloudy day, but I'm not sure if that's the right light especially since the house is white and surrounded with white snow...also I can't decide which of the two crops below better showcase the abandoned property or if there is another way to compose the shot that I haven't even considered.

Craving feedback so please share your thoughts!

I prefer the composition of the second photo. In my opinion, there are too many details in the first photo and the snow in the second one seems to counterbalance this.

I also think that the 'tower' of the abandoned house is interesting. Maybe it's worth to try a shoot just with it; something like this:

Thanks for your thoughts - I see exactly what you mean about detail overload in the first photo. Also, I like your idea of isolating the tower.

I feel like I need to be hoisted 20 feet up into the air to get the right angle...
