Cool fish tacos

what do you think of the composition of this photo? I have a food blog (www.dishingthedivine.com) and was trying to capture the action of putting the sauce on the taco. I'm wondering if the blurred movement at the top is distracting instead of helpful?

can't tell you about composition (new in photography) but the blur is very distracting to me, i couldn't tell (without your explanation) that the blur supposed to be putting the sauce on the taco.
just my thoughts...

I think the blur is quite distracting, I'm thinking a freeze shot of sauce about to drip off onto the taco might work better?
Compositionally it looks fine to me, but the background looks a little cluttered.

i've worked in the food service industry for most of my life and one of the most important aspects of presentation is the "three color" rule.....that's why your plate usually has that annoying piece of parsley, kale, or green onion on it......

oh, and try warming up the color temperature of your image.....warm tones make food look more appealing.....

I wonder...if you'd used rear curtain synch-ing on your flash (to capture the movement as lines behind the object) if you'd have had better luck conveying movement. As it is, the spoon is just a distracting grey blob. I think if you'd shot against a plain black background it would be much better. You should probably wipe the drops out of the bowl. The foreground composition is great; the dish at camera left nicely balances the spoon in camera right. The diagonal line from server's arm to food to dish works well too.
