My wife and I were returnning from her brother's funeral when we saw this old truck just outside of cisco, TX. We were still 4 hours from home I just had to stop and take a picture. But all I had was my wife's Fuji point and shot camera. It was the wrong time of day, bright sun behind the truck. There was no way to take a photo without ugly buildings in the background. I wasn't gonna dare climb over a "posted" sign on the fence between the old truck and the road. So I just shot a picture thru the fence knowing the photo would be less than exciting. But I still wanted to capture a shot of it.
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/6...ckoriginal.jpg The photo turned out about like I expected. But I thought I'd try to get some use out of it. I don't have Photoshop. So I attemted to fix it with the programs I have. I openned the picture in MSpaint. Copied and pasted sections of the grassy field to cover the background destractions like the building and boring sky. But the patch job looked like %$#@ in color. So I openned the patched version in Irfanview. Then coverted to B&W. Adjusted the exposure settings to try to get some detail on the shaded side of the truck. But the grassy area still looked like a washed out patched job. Unfortunately I had the alter to sepia and try to make it look like an antique photo. Then go back to MSpaint to spray paint a faded border around the edges. Here's what I finally ended up with. |
