Best Camera for Kids?

Hi

We operate a store (online and in Old Sacramento, CA) that is half educational toy store and half outdoor gear shop for kids.

We have recently had some customer requests to expand our "Photography with Kids" section. As a business, our goal is always to find the best products, understand why they are superior, and then provide the best value to our customers (most often parents with a keen interest in educational entertainment). I am hoping to tap the collective knowlege of this community.

I was wondering if anybody would like to share their opinions on what they think is the best camera for kids (ages 7-14) and why. Any information on price to performance, ease of use, features most important to young users, best "stepping stone" camera, most durable, or any other info would be wonderful.
