Default Travel Cameras

Good Morning,
I am interested in a "Travel Camera", small, good lens, screen that I can see in the sunlight. I have narrowed my selection to:
Cannon SX200 IS
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3
Samsung HZ15W

Anyone have experience with the screens? Can they be used in bright sunlight?
Thanks,
Davidlens

I have a panasonic TZ5 which I believe is the precursor to the ZS3/TZ7. I travel a lot, having just returned from Colorado in fact and the camera has served me very well. The trip before this one took me to Namibia and South Africa for 7 months with plenty of desert and Ocean time and the camera performed very well at both locations despite having no viewfinder. I can not comment on the Cannon or the Samsung but I would say that from my experience you can't go wrong with the Panasonic for a great travel camera.

Very happy with mine. Love the 12x zoom and AVCHD.

Panasonic TZ7/SZ3 - for flexibility and good photos
Canon SX200 IS - if you love Canon and don't mind the pop up flash
Samsung HZ15W - no idea
Fuji F200EXR - excellent dynamic range
Panasonic LX-3 - great p&s but limited zoom

No LCD is good under bright sunlight.

I'll throw in my hat for the ZS3. The menu system may not be as refined as others, btu results are incomparable.

Default Camera to carry

I bought the TZ5 a year ago. More than adequate. iA mode most of the time covers it

Newer versions are superior I hear. LX3 if you have more money.

Get a good belt holder. Nueve or? makes a custom case.. leather etc..

Bought a ZS3 a couple of weeks ago to replace an older Canon and I love it. The zoom range is awesome and the results thus far are quite acceptable!

Default I'm using samsung digitalcamera ST1000..

I'm using samsung digitalcamera ST1000.. If you want to buy for your travel, I recommend ST1000. With the ST1000's built-in GPS and Geo-tagging capability, you'll always know where you stand, literally, and you'll never forget where your photo was shot.
