    Default Help with lens choice

Hi I currently have a Canon 60D with the kit lenses 18-55 f3.5 -5.6 and the 55-250. I would like to photograph my daughters on coming wedding and I would like to do it without flash as far as possible. I am thinking of a 50mm canon f1.4. Price between 300-500 $. any suggestions.
    Cheers Ted

Will you have a paid photographer for the event, or will you be doing all of the shooting? Is flash not allowed, or you just dont want flash?

Yeah for $300-500 shooting a wedding no flash you're going to need a fast lens. With a 50mm lens at a wedding you're going to be doing a lot of leg work moving around or changing lenses often.

then again, this changes every week

Do you have any idea of the lighting conditions at the venue? I would suggest going in with 2 lens - the EF50mm f/1.4 (will be about 80mm equivalent on your 60D) and with the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom. Since the second lens is around $1000, you could rent it from lensrentals.com or similar for 4 days...

Btw, I shot my cousin's entire wedding with just the 50mm f/1.4 mounted on the 5D Mk II...you can see those photos on flickr to judge how your images might look...http://www.flickr.com/photos/prabalg...7628512316257/
