Unhappy What digital camera to choose

Hi Hi i am looking to upgrade my camera, (a sony cybershot dsc 190 )which i have had for quite a long time now but the trouble i am having is that this camera is very good for pictures on the computer and also for decent sized enlargments but what i am into now is making CD discs with family photo's and music on for viewing on my 40 inch TV and i am finding that when blown up to that size many of the pictures are distorted (although not all) so i am looking for a camera that will cope with this and also produce good indoor party pictures but i still want a point and shoot as the others look far too complicated fo me to operate
I have been to several camera shops and they have ALL given me conflicting advice and i am more confused than ever.
i havent got a price limit as such i just need advice as to what camera i should go for, so far i have been offered the panasonic lumix TZ20 but the next shop said that i did not need to go to that one for what i needed and they suggested the sony cybersot DSCW570 and yet another shop said that i would indeed get beter blown up pictures with the lumix so you can see i dont know where i am at the moment so pleeeeese can you help. many thanks isabel2

crikey, dont camera shops and enthusiasts make things complicated!

if you go for either the sony or the panasonic you will be very happy......digital camera's seem to have come on immensely over the past few years and all will have ample picture quality for your needs.......

my advice would be to just ignore the staff and pick up and have a good play with a couple of camera's and just see which one feels the most comfortable and easy to use....

good luck!!

incidentally, ive just bought a general electric x5 from amazon for just over 100 spons including a decent memory card....its dead easy to use and the picture quality looks to be brilliant...it automatically chooses the scenes for you and has automatic flash etc so is extremely easy to use...even if it initially doesnt look like it!
