I have seen nothing in this forum about this camera. I have been using it for about a year and a half and have no complaints at all. It is only 4.1 MP, but my experience shows that for prints no larger than 5 X 7, resolution of more than 4 megapixels is really a waste of money, since the quality of the prints is not apparent. I chose, rather, to opt for more features and flexibility (like a zoom range of 56X, many modes of operation, and many operator adjustments that can optionally be made. I have not had reason to regret my choice. I would like to hear from others who have experience with this model of camera.

Wow! It is so nice to know that I am not the only one using this camera. I have not had any real bad problems with this camera at all, except that the on and off dial seems to get sort of sticky sometimes? So far I have taken a little over 5000 photos with it. Also the 8x or 10x? optical zoom without that new image stablizating stuff have made my hands become really steady because of this. Also the flash range on this camera is great too! Lately though I never use it, because 3 months ago I bought a Panasonic lumix FX-33 for its ultra small size so that I can carry it in my pocket.
Anyways Enjoy the Camera! |

I have had my HP 850 for over 5 years. It was my first digital camera and I couldn't have been more pleased with it. Unfortunatly, the battery case cover has begun to crack and HP says that they don't offer a replacement part.
I am so bummed.I am now forced to look into a new camera but I am not impressed with anything I see in my price range. I'm looking into a dslr, but I have so much researching to do - I don't yet understand the lenses completly. If anyone has faced the HP850 battery case problem, I'd love to hear any advice - or if anyone has any suggestions for a new camera - I need all the help I can get!! |

Yes, mine broke too, loved that camera - so much that I used a large C-Clamp to hold the batteries in after the door broke off, also serverd as a handle
not in public of course!I eventually replaced it with a Kodak Easy share. |
