LOL, I know what you mean, oldwolf. If you don't tell my husband, I won't tell your wife. [/QUOTE]

Beautiful examples! Thank you for sharing. I think I will follow the majorities advice and invest in the one quality light and go from there.

As for backdrops.... Make Your own... seriously, it's easy....
Cheap DIY (Homemade) Muslin Photography Background | DIYPhotography.net

I suggest grabbing 5 yards of 108" white muslin for your backdrop and grabbing a cheap HUGE spool of twine at the hardware store.... There are a myriad of ways to hang the backdrop and with a little time and thought you can find something for your kit that won't cost near what you'd pay for a lot of the kits...

Buy Quality first and you won't have to buy junk repeatedly. Just my .02

I was looking at DIY lighting and backdrops and was reading about neat substitute backdrops in the Digital SLR photography magazine. Thank you for this link, I will be going that route for backdrops.

I did notice that. When I took a studio photography class there were so many different options and we didn't really get to use them a lot with the scheduled studio time for each student so I didn't feel I learned much that stuck and thought that kit would help me to get a better grasp. But given the responses here, it doesn't look like I'll need all that stuff. Thank you again! You guys have been a great help and I'm happy I won't be wasting any money.
