out of curiousity I bought one 2weeks ago .. the viewfinder got me interested in it .. I am starting to like this little camera ... very noisy at iso 200 and up ... very sharp images ... a little heavy with the 4AA batteries .. very awkward changing batteries and taking card in and out ... I got used to that .. for $107 with free shipping at Amazon, not bad at all

I also just added some pictures that I took in the Lanscape/Cityscape SYS section, that were taken with my GE.

I have the camera - not my favorite - made me want to update quicker to a dlsr. I have found that you really have to watch holding it steady to get non-blurry shots-and that is in auto mode with the antishake on. i would get a Nikon, Canon,or Sony Point and shoot myself.

maybe this link is better. my budget is tight. i was just curious if GE made total crap or would it be worth a shot. i bought a new camera 2 days ago and i love it. i was thinking of getting on of these just to test the quality.
Looks like a rebranded Fuji camera, something in the S2### series. No fuji is 14mp/15x zoom, but both components are there.

I know someone who bought a GE camera. I don't know if it was this exact one, but I thought it was funny because I didn't even know they made cameras and B&H doesn't even stock it :P

after spending much time researching and checking reviews ive ordered a ge x5 from amazon...great deal of £110.00 for the camera,4gb card, case, rechargeable batteries and charger.....

i'm returning to what i would term'proper'photography after a long break(used to have the former slr camera of the year,a yashica fxd quartz,to give a time frame on my gap!) but i just dont have the budget or inclination to invest in a slr and a multitude of lenses,so im hoping that this bridge camera will get me kick started back into the hobby with its apparent multi tasking abilty and flexibility...ill let you know how i get on as it should arrive tommorow(cant wait!!!)

well, recieved the x5 today.......first impressions are that its a very solid well built device. Its a little smaller than i expected, rather like a 2 thirds slr but everything works with a solid click or push...very reassuring.

in respect of initial handling,it feels good in the hand, with all the main controls to hand and you can flick from a viewfinder view to the main lcd screen via one press of a dedicated button at the rear of the body......pretty handy.

ill be posting a review of the camera after a few weeks of using it but i must admit to being shocked as to just how much can be packed into a camera compared to my old and much loved yashica fxd(do they still make cameras?).......ive a feeling that this little camera will,be all i need for the next few years...
