resetting photo count on fz8

after formatting the card in the camera the photo counts continues from the previous count and does not start from zero again. How do I reset it?

Not sure about your particular camera, but on the cameras I have owned, somewhere in the menus there's an option to either continuously count up in the file naming structure or to reset with each card change or reset manually. So check around in your menus and there should be an option.

You might want to reconsider if you really want to do what you are asking. Many find it better to just let it keep counting without reseting. If you reset it each time you format then over time you will end up with many pictures with the name dsc0001 (and so on). This makes it hard to search for photos when you have 56 with the same name. I just let mine continue to count up so each photo always has a unique name.

I agree with kirbinster; I highly recommend that you do not do this. It's going to be a royal pain for what seems like little (if any) gain.

However, it's against my personal morals to insult people by making personal decisions for them, even if I disagree with those decisions. So here's the steps:

• Push MENU/SET
• Click left, then down to go to your Setup menu.
• Push right to highlight your menu options.
• Push up 8 times until you highlight "NO.RESET"
• Click right, and it will ask you if you're sure you want to do this.
• Highlight "Yes"
• Click MENU/SET again.
