I love this lens. I’ve actually captured some great action photos with it -in bright sunlight though… not so much after the sun goes down but it’s definitely a great buy for the money.

Check out my flickr. All the butterflies were taken with the Zuiko 70-300. dock39145.

I have had this lens for a year now ... along with my E-510. Its a hit-and-miss sometimes as i struggle to get sharp images, especially near the 300mm mark.

My 40-150mm is still my favourite over this one.

Has anyone had similar experience?

Yes I've had mine for a couple of months now and still getting to grips with it. Tried it for sports close-ups (not enough light, autofocus couldn't handle it) and snowscapes (quite impressive but my wife had my tripod so used the camera bag instead. Will try some macro when I get a chance. The Manual focus seems best when at 200-300mm in my opinion. It is very compact though and even though I had to buy a new bag it does not weigh you down. Quite impressed so far.

Default 70-300

I have been wanting to go (almost had bought one at Best Buy). But then I came across something that said 75-300 (costing a bomb) and I did read a few reviews about its focussing qualities.

So how different is 75-300?

As far as I know, there isn't a Zuiko 75-300 just the 70-300.

Check this link. This talks of a 75-300 lens (costing a fortune of course)

Ah, that lens is for Micro Four Thirds. I'm willing to bet that the 70-300 is a much better lens just by looking at some of the specs.
