Default E-3 finally

Well after more then 4 years Oly has a new "toy" in their premium segment....

I think that 10Mpix sensor is a little bit small when you have a much bigger sensors for less money but who knows... We need to wait and see samples..

Here you can find some info about it..

DP Review has a press release about it, AND a release regarding the 4 NEW LENSES for the E-System

I can't wait for this camera to go through the review tests by respected reviewers. 10MP is enough. Anymore you'll start compromising quality for huge megapixel marketing ploys. More MP do not mean better quality. Better glass means better quality. And Zuiko lenses, designed from the ground-up for smaller DSLR crop sensors, are excellent compared to the competitors' digital designed lenses (i.e. Nikkor DX or Canon EF-S lenses). Unless you're going with full-frame or medium format photography, I don't think Olympus can be beat. So the question will be, is the claimed 5 stop body-IS as good as proclaimed, how does this sensor handle high ISO settings (what is the Noise performance), and are the improved features enough to make this a leading camera in the non-full frame market.

10MP is by no means small. Most people don't print large enough for it to matter, and packing more pixels on a sensor that hasn't gotten any larger in actual physical size is more likely to do harm. That price puts it squarely in competition with Nikon's D200/300 and Canon's 30/40D range. The 300 only has 2 extra megapixels (12MP) and the 40D is 10MP, so they're right where they should be. The Oly sensor is also smaller than APS-C, which means they have to worry even more about noise.

I dont think that Oly sensor will give you worries about noise. It's the new technology in sensor of DSLR camera. They are using a different MOS sensor which has improved electronic noise reduction as the processing is purely digital. Unlike CMOS and CCD of other DSLRs the noise will always be there during the process of signal. The bigger your sensor the higher probability to generate noise. That's why they enhance it through software manipulation.

Just a share.
