Default what's wrong with olympus?

hi, im just wondering...

What's wrong with olympus? I mean its a great camera, the way they innovate things, etc. but why is it that they don't push their marketing strategy to the limit? Compared to Canon or Nikon, here in our country, Very few are olympus users... (in SLR comparison). What do you guys think is lacking for olympus? is it the way they market their products? is it the product itself? or is it just me?

Olympus had its best chance in the early days of DSLR when it introduced the bridge digital camera E-10. But it was overshadowed by the Canon D30.

Canon continued to introduce bodies such as Rebel, xxD, 1D and 5D series. Even Nikon had to wait until D40, D300 and D3 before it became competitive again.

Olympus gambled on Four Thirds system when the low MP APS sensor was the standard. Now it has to compete with high MP APS and full-frame sensors.

I believe it's new strategy is niche marketing with the new Micro Four Thirds system. Combining the recently announced Panasonic Leica M and R mount adapters, the new Olympus E-System camera will be a very interesting product.

According to the Japanese BCN Ranking of the bestselling DSLRs in Japan for the year 2008, both Panasonic G1 and Olympus E-510 shared 1.4%.

I agree with the fact that µ4/3 may be the future of Olympus. If the digital PEN comes comes out in anything like the old film PEN cameras form, it's going to be an insane smash hit among those who've been clamoring for a digital parallel to what rangefinders do for 35mm film: something small and silent with great image quality. The fact that it can mount damn near anything, including M-mount and M39 Leica and Zeiss lenses is just the cherry on top. Be completely cool if it could mount pld PEN F lenses, too....

I sometimes wish Olympus would market more to become more popular. Then I realize that the costs of their cameras would go up too. I'll stick with the way it is.
