I think the Hoya HMC super is good, allthough you actually don't need an uv filter for digital (appart from protection). I don't know about pola-filters. I use a Hoya infrared filter. Works well.

another filter brand that i use is Kenko filters...
and on the lens mount... not sure about B+W since i dont have one.
but i think as long as the diameter of the filter you'r buying is the right diameter on your lens, there should be no problem... (or you can use step-up/down ring adaptors)

Along those same lines, I would buy filters to fit the largest (filter ring size) lens I expect to own. You can then get a step-up adaptor for smaller lenses. This way you will only have to afford ONE set of filters instead of ONE SET FOR EACH LENS SIZE.

Also for accesories, I would invest in a GOOD tripod, Heavy is better than light for stable photos… sorry.

Ask your self what kind of photography you are interested in:
if you like macro, perhaps a macro lens. I prefer the 35mm E rather than the 50mm E.
if you like mostly landscapes, then maybe a nice wide angle, and put-off a flash
if you like portraits, maybe you SHOULD go for a good flash, but be realistic about guide numbers ie: is a guide # of 50 worth TWICE the price of a GN 35?

Other accessories you will want: SOMETHING TO CARRY IT ALL.
remote control-lets you be in the photo but, more importantly, lets you fire the camera w/o touching it and causing vibrations.

What about a monopod? great for situations when you don't have the time to set up a tripod but still need stability. Great forst sports or news, wonderful in panning situations. How about this… you are at a public event… maybe a presidential inauguration, people are so crowded together that you can barely see, much less get the picture. So you mount your camera on a monopod, set everything on auto, hold it high above the crowd and fire it with your remote! You(ll) get the picture. - Jenny
