Lightbulb Olympus E-620

Hi all Olympus just announced a new DSLR the E-620 that will be available late spring. It looks to be placed between the over priced E-30 and the E-520 but with size similar to the E-420. I has IS and a flip out LCD screen like the new E-30 and most likely the same sensor 12.3mp.

It definetely seems like a nice camera, but if I were to upgrade I would just go for the E-3. The 2 more mpx and articulating screen just isn't enought to justify me selling my camera (E-410) and buying this one.

i like the camera's specs and price. and the idea that olympus is going to stop on 12 mp and and give up the race for megapixels)

What appeals to me is the illuminated buttons on the camera. Many times while taking night shots I have had to fumble around for a torch and then hold it in my mouth while I adjusted the camera settings.

I have also read that the info in the fiewfinder isn't on the rightside anymore (on the top or bottom), but I'm not sure about it.
The grip is smaller which I think is a sad thing becouse it doesn't make the E520 (much) bigger, but does make it more usefull for big(ger) hands and lenses. Also the battery is smaller (E420 battery), which makes it 30g lighter (wow! )

I bought the E520 2 months ago new so this news about E620 was a bit pain in the #ss...

I read dpreview's blurb about it, and I think if/when I give up my e500, I'm just going to go all the way with an E3 (or whatever 'pro' grade they have available at the time). I don't need all the bells & whistles - live view is virtually useless to me, I couldn't care less about spiffy art filters, or whether or not the screen swivels out. What I do care about: the fact that every thing I'd want to change is at my finger tips (without having to go through a menu system), the camera fits in my hands & doesn't feel like a toy, and - most importantly - it takes pictures

But then, I guess I'm a bit of a fuddy duddy ... I put the thing on aperture priority and only ever really fiddle with the EV, ISO, and aperture ... and go.

I'll be sticking with my E-520 as well. I don't see the appeal of the art filters or the swivle LCD.

I do a lot of hiking with my camera kit in my pack, and having played with a 620, I WANT big time...

Nice and light, great IS (read no more tripod, on long hikes), image quality is great... but what really got me was the AF, with the 12-60 f2.8, micros seconds and the burst mode was firing as fast as I have ever seen...

Once again, I WANT...

But?? there is always a but, since Oly has just released the e450, do you think there is a e650 coming, and how long till that happenes??? what additions will it have...

Will stick to my e500 till March next year, then do the deed...
