Default Any Experience with Using SLR lenses w/the Adapter?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using the standard SLR lenses via the adapter on their Olympus DSLR? I've read the warnings about things not working properly, but I'm curious to hear actual accounts.

I have read lots of information about using OM mount lens adaptors on DSLR's, the opinion is you loose the auto focus therefore focusing can only be done manually, which makes sense being as OM lenses do not have the necessary electrics\ motors in them. Having said this there are now attachments to compliment OM lenses which enables split screen focusing for dslrs making focus a dream just like thier 35mm ancestors, "Great you say!'' Not so quick I say, here comes the draw back, if you attach the split screen to your camera you can no longer see the little red dot for the auto focus of your new lenses. Now you're stuck somewhere in the middle, right where i was when I came to a conclusion, stick with the old, go with the new don't mix the two.

Wow - Wayfarer, I'd totally forgotten I'd posted this question until I saw your reply!

Yeah, auto-focus isn't so much an issue for me, as I almost exclusively use Manual Focus for just about everything (self-portraits, OTOH, are another story), but still not sure I want to spend the money, and find I'm not happy with the results.

Hi Velvet4269,
I don't think either the split focus or adapter ring are expensive, approx. $100us for both. I can't comment on how well these work as I have not tried them! Good Luck..... and let me know the results if you do.
