Dear friends,
I got my first DSLR Olympus E500 a great camera, thanks to a friend of mine Mr. Rendra who shares his experiences. It has great skin color... Last month I took pictures on my sister wedding, some picture I printed in a commercial shop; the staff at the shop ask me what is your camera brand? Proudly I said Olympus. One question, how effective is ISO limiting, the manual describe too little about it, I don't see too much different or it is may be me Is there any description on the exact value of +/- 2.0 point on top of manual set amount of flash light? For example: is 1/4 compareable to 1/16 + 2.0? or 1/64 identical to 1/16 - 2.0? cheers, Kiki Wong |

ok so first of all iso limit means that it doesn't let you use an iso over the set limit. that is when you want to give it to mom and you don't want the camera to go automatically to iso1600 (which won't really happen but whatever) so you limit it to 400 or 800... useless if you ask me about it.. just set it to off or 1600 whichever it is and set the iso as you want. just remember high iso means high noise so when you get home use noise reduction (oly doesn;t do it in-camera to give you more control over the process).
as for the flash, those are two different things. first one is by how much should the camera compensate exposure to get a correct image (useful for strong flash up close) and the 1/4 etc is the actual strength of the flash. I usually keep both normal exposure and flash exposure to -0.3 to make sure i have no blown highlights. and last but by no means, wear the Oly colours proudly we aren't many but i have never heard of an oly man who was not proud of his gear and his choice if i were to call it i'd say olympus is apple and canon is microsoft. nikon is linux though. not sure it's appropriate.
