Ahhhh. Youth. Thankfully they haven't found credit cards yet

That camera seemed to sell for 999$ when it first came out.. now used I saw it on ebay for 100~

That being said, if she finds repairs will be more then 100$ it might be cheaper to do a shopping trip from BH Photo

even for $50 i dont know if its really worth it.. you cant actually print anything larger then what..8x10 ?? if you're lucky.. ? (shrug)
oh well.. the joys of being a student.. no money and no means of making money.
i hope she just gets it working ..any picture is better than nothing i guess.

Can't imagine it would be worth repairing, unless she can somehow do it herself or get it done for free.

The circuit boards in these cameras are loaded with surface-mounted very small components, not something your average electronics hobbyist would want to mess with. Also, weird things can happen if you don't put it all back together exactly right (speaking from experience here).

On the upside, she can't really make it any worse by trying to fix it! When you have nothing to lose...
