Default Lifespan of DSLR cameras

Hi,

I have an Olympus E-300 which as of the 7th will be exactly 2 years old. In that time I have taken around 25,000 shots.

It seems to me that lately the picture quality is not the same as it was day one or even at 10,000 shots. I clean my sensor when needed, I clean my lenses regularly, etc; but the shots just don't "feel" the same. The sharpness isn't there, the clarity is less, and I am having trouble getting good shutter control in low light.

I talked to Oly and they claim there is nothing I need to do with the camera in terms of additional maintenance.

Has anyone else had this issue with a DSLR? Have you seen degradation in your shots as your take more and more? Is there some type of built in obsolence?

Thanks for your comments!

Pat

That is realy strange problem. Usually dSLR owners complains about mirror problems, autofocus was wrong, or shutter is completely destroyed.
According to your descriptions you should check your focus. Find someware focusing chart and test your gear.

Best regards..

Do you have this problem if you switch lenses? It could be a problem with the lens rather than the camera.

I recently borrowed an E-300 that turns 3 in January, and noticed no difference between some of the first pictures taken and the ones I took up til last week (when my E-500 finally arrived), aside from things like obvious camera shake, bad focus, and too high ISO.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have 3 different lenses and I notice it the most on my 50mm macro (which is actually the youngest of my lenses).

I will check the focus to see if it is misreading.

Again thanks for the suggestions
