Default New flash

I recently puchased an Evolt 500 (which i love so far) and also purchased seperatly a slave flash. A Phoneix D92-BZS. The palce i bought it from assured me it would work with my camera but for the life I cannot figure out how to do so.
It has a built in hot shoe and also came with a bracket. But can someone tell me how to snychronixe the two and get the flash to actually work???

if it's TTL it should work. hell, it should work anyway... just make sure that if the flash needs batteries you got them in and then technically once you put the flash in the hotshoe it should work. just hit on on the flash and shoot a photo with the oly.

and shame on you for buying something without your camera with you to test it...

also, if all else fails, why not just call the place that sold you the flash and ask them...

quick tip: google the flash model and see if it' oly ompatible. so far i've only used the fl-36 flash from oly and a canon flash from a mark1d.

Geex this took me forever to find. Guess I should have subsribed to it. I could not take my camera with me as I bought everything on line. You see I live over a hundred miles from any sort of town so i buy everything on line. I finally figured out how to gett he flash to sychronize with my camera and yes it did have batteries that were charged! lol

Question Eyetek Slave Flash

I have yet to figure out why my onboard flash must operate in order for my slave flash to work. Even when it's in the hot shoe, the pin doesn't lock the onboard flash and it pops up a bit. Is it only because I have a cheaper slave flash that isn't fully compatible?

There is a setting within your camera that will close the on board flash. I cant tell you what it is right now but if you look in your manual it will tell you. I beleive its the one with the arrow poiting down.
also if you go to your Olympus master and hook up your camera with any new equipment and sync it, the program will make sure everything is working hunkey dorey with each other
