Default What the hell is that "Panorama"?

Mys second WTH question here...

I have my Olympus stylus SW 790 (P&S) and it has this thing... that one with blue lines with arrow... what is that for???

Ummm, it's a panorama setting which lets you take a picture, then it shows you part of the picture so you can line up the next picture and I think it auto stitches them.

Let me correct myself, the 790SW doesn't actually show you in those blue bars what you previously took a picture of (so I guess you're supposed to remember where your edge was ). My old camera did the preview. In any case, you can take up to 10 pictures and the Olympus software can put them together into a panorama.

It is a utility feature for panoramic images (see here for examples of panoramic images).

Question

got questions for panorama...

is it possible to have a panoramic shots even without a required memory card??? (im using E520 and it does need a small memory card which is not included in the package...)
