Default Olympus OM-D E-M5 announced

Olympus OM-D E-M5 Preview: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review

Olympus users have finally gotten their high-end enthusiast µ4/3 camera. And it's weathersealed.

BTW, as a Panasonic G3 owner, I should point out that a new G3 kit goes for just under $600, while the E-M5 14-42 kit is MSRPing around $1100, so I'm really not surprised it's nicer. It's essentially adding a new higher tier above the Oly PENs.

It's got the old school look! I don't think I'm going to jump on it until it is out for a while, I read technical reviews, and most importantly user reviews. But it is on my wish list.

This might be just the replacement for my ep-1, very interested in seeing how the sensor handles.

Maybe it's just because I own an '80s OM film SLR, but I can't help thinking that "pyramid" hump looks awkward and out-of-proportion. I'm not getting the "ZOMG! so-sexy" vibe from it that I get from the rangefinder-styled Fuji cameras, like the X100 or Pro-X 1. I far prefer the corner EVF of the NEX-7.

The specs, though, are awesome.

Yeah, they should've put the slot for external accessories to the right of the hump instead of ontop of it. Because people are really going to mount a viewfinder on the viewfinder

This camera looks great.

I've already pre-ordered mine on Amazon.
