Default Photo samples for Low light photography with Lens Kits

Hello everyone! I use an Oly E-510 with the dual lens kit I bought last month. I am just new to photography and I want to try low-light photography but still cannot figure it out. Can someone post some examples on their work using the Oly-510 with the lens kit and without any external accessories (except tripod)? Thanks a lot...

use your lens that has the fastest aperture (lower f number) and have a slower shutter speed - you'll risk motion blur, but that's how it's usually done. i only have a canon s3IS, which is a point and shoot camera, but here's a sample. i am 101% sure that your oly can do a milestone better:

I also am new here and have the 510 and would love to see some shots and settings to try. Are you trying to take indoor or outdoor shots ? I invested in a cable trigger and a remote trigger so my hands do not ever have to touch the camera since I tend to shake quite a bit and I know the slower the shutter speed, the more shake is visible so I also always use a tripod, even for indoor shots. You can always use your cameras timer too though so you don't have to put out any money for triggers.

Here's a link to a thread I posted last week or so. E 510 ISO 200-1600 Series

And here's another photo, ISO 800, handheld, with available light.

wow.. I was in doubt before if my kit lenses can do low light photography. I ussually have awful shots when shot at night. What were your settings for aperture and shutter speed? Also what metering mode did you use? Did you use a tripod for this one?

Exif should be intact, but I believe I used spot metering, handheld with IS1 on, 5.6 at 1/125th and ISO 800, if you're asking about the trumpet player photo.
