Default Problems with E500

Greetings:

I've actually used this website/forum quite a bit in learning about photography, though this is actually the first time I've ever bothered to sign up on the forums. I guess that makes me a lurker, right?

Anyway, I recently picked up an Olympus E500 from my friend and coworker. It's a great camera, and I'm having a blast learning how to use a DSLR. Just one problem, and it's something that he told me about before I bought it, so it wasn't a surprise to me.

Whenever I take pictures at ISO's higher than 500, I see a small blue line at the bottom of the image. It gets worse as I increase the ISO. He told me that he suspects that it could be a problem with the sensor. I honestly have no clue what the problem is. Is there any way that this can be fixed? If so, how?

Default line through images

Actually I was just about to start a new thread with a similar question. I've just started to notice occasionally I get a line going through my images and was wondering if anyone knew what might be causing this. Below is an image that has it in. You can see it larger on flickr if necessary. It's on the left vertical third of the image and is always in this area.
Is this what you are experiencing?

Thanks for any information on what could be causing this!

Does anyone know what's going on?

Boy, wish I could help. Never had this happen and did a bunch of research and couldn't find anything. Did you contact Olympus?

Yes and they just gave me shipping instruction to return for repair. Thanks for your efforts...I'll post once I figure it out so if others get this they'll know what it is. I'll probably hold off til Novemeber unless it gets worse. Right now it's intermittent.
