I do not know if this has been a topic but I have had a Great number of problems lately. I have about two or disk that I shot in RAW format on my Olympus E-410. I have photoshop 5 on a windows xp computer. Nothing on my computer will read the files.
When I tried a program it would say there was a file there but still would not bring up the photo yet the file exist. I have tried downloading programs to convert but they do not execpt the ORF format. I really do not want to pay for a program I just would like to able to retrieve these photos from the disk to edit them.(with out great damage to the photos) I would love to get to these photos. Someone please help me understand what I am missing about this? ![]() I would be if some one could please help me!

photoshop 5 doesn't support camera raw. i think that was introduced in photoshop 7 or photshop cs, but for the e-410, you need camera raw 4.3.1, which requires photoshop cs3, lightroom (don't rmember version), or photoshop elements 6.
you could do a google search for a raw program. i'm not sure if GIMP supports raw formats or not. or you could use the software that came with the camera to make tweaks to the raw image and export those to jpg for posting online.

.. if you used the Olympic software to develop the RAW files and save them as jpg so you can further process them in your version of PS or Gimp?
I also did a very quick Google and found this http://www.stepok.net/eng/raw_importer.htm

You could try the XP Powertoy Here it will allow you to open the raw files in XP,
They also have a nice guide on converting your raw files Here Hope this helps, ike, |

Hmm.. Maybe download and try the trial version of Bibble? Or use UFRaw and the Gimp?
If you'd said Photoshop Elements 5.0, I'd've said use the Adobe DNG converter.

UFRaw and the Gimp work quite well. I run a Linux box and it works very well on it.
