Default split focusing

I have noticed you can now buy an attatchment for e-system cameras,it allows split focusing like the old OM system...."Great" ....This coupled with an OM adapter would let you use old OM lenses, which will not auto focus. Or would be useful for focusing e-system lenses which can be awkward sometimes.
Has anyone tried this, if so, what is your opinion?

Well,

This is a split focusing screen:

It helps to focus better when you want to use manual focus.

Here is an article which illustrates (about 1/3 of the way down) what you see when looking though a split focusing screen.

Firmware update 1.3 allows the use of OM glass on the E series cameras, although it doesn't create the split focusing.
