Default Adding metadata in Camera

anyone know if the Olympus E520 is capable of this. If not I will have to start opening Lightroom or Photoshop again and adding the data to my photos myself. No this doesn't take long, I just have gotten away from post-processing my shots. = lazy.

what are you currently using, if anything.

What do you mean "adding metadata in camera"? Your camera should automatically record a TON of metadata in every photo -- shutter speed, apreture, ISO, and a bunch of other settings and info as well. What do you want to add to it?

from what i read SOME cameras allow you to enter personal information such as your name and attach it to every photo. i want to know if this was possible with the e520. there are a few things the manual does not tell you how to do.

i want to be able to edit the information in camera as oppose to doing it in lightroom or photoshop.

maybe the e520 is not that sophisticated.

edit: this is not the site i initially read, but this implies that information can be added to the camera's metadata file before shooting. or do i have this all wrong.

EDIT: I FOUND a work around in Olympus Master that allows me to attach just the info. I wanted to add, it's not in camera, but I don't have to open another program which is what I really wanted. Yay.

looks like i should try this on my canon. okay. this explains it well enough:

Most cameras that I've seen don't have this capability. You would think more could. My old canon a510 could do this but that is the only camera that I've owned that could. I've owned 6 digital cameras, it seems like a feature that would be fairly common.

Ah, I see. All Nikon DSLRs have this ability, but I know not about Canons.

the only thing i wanted to add was my name and actually my cameras/software are both set up for my name to be attached to each photo. i guess i'm a little on the lazy side and didn't want to open an additional program just to add my name. i was surfing websites and i read someone adding their name and email to their camera's info. that info is now attached to all of their photos - thought it was cool.

maybe i didn't explain it well, i couldn't find the original site i read it on, but after some digging, i found the links i posted.

my name is all that i really wanted attached to each file. i haven't opened lightroom or photoshop for editing in weeks and got away from attaching my personal metadata info. to my photos.

anyhoo, everything is fine now.

thanks.
