i found both of these lenses online fairly cheap and within my spending budget, so i bought them both. i have the 70-300, but that sucker is heavy. there's just no way i can carry it around for as much as i would like to, so i wanted to go for something lighter. a one lens use for day trips to the zoo.
has anyone tested or used the sigma 50-200. any thoughts on this lens vs. the olympus or are they both okay. i had the 40-150, but sold it and here i am buying it again. i should have kept it. dumb. ![]() i plan to use them both to see which one i like the best and sell the other one, but i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on these two lenses. i believe the olympus is lighter in weight.

my sigma lens should arrive friday or saturday. i'll come back and post some pictures.
the 40-150 lens arrived and i took some photos last night. i think there may have been something wrong with the first lens i had. this one performs much better. i will keep one of the two and the other one will be for sale on ebay. so if you're in the market for the lens, i'll be selling one. i won't keep them both. my next and last lens will be the 18-180 for all around. i hope. dear gaud, it's a disease. owning a camera.

It is a disease, I have the Oly 40-150 it's not bad. It's my furthest focusing lens so it comes in handy and does a pretty good job. I'm really itching for the 70-300mm. I've almost got enough to get it. Why on earth would you sell a lens though! I don't think I could.

I really like the 620, it's really like anything you need to practice and read about it to get better at it so I've been trying to do that. It's got a lot of nice features to it. I currently have 5 lenses each serve their own purpose but I don't necessarily carry each with me all the time. I take the most appropriate lenses for the situation. 3 of my lenses were pretty cheap as they are used OM lenses from ebay. I looke forward to your review of the 50-200.

i got the 50-200 today and i have my camera with me (at work) took a few test shots and so far i'm loving it. i want to get some outside shots, but not in all this rain since i need to spend some time out there. i will post some shots i took in the office and later at home and then outside. i bought it for outside only, but inside with adequate lighting, this lens does well. now which one will i get rid of? i don't know, too early to tell. wahhhhhhh. if i had a choice to keep one, i'm leaning toward the sigma at this point, but my mind could change based on my test.

i did a complete u-turn. i'm selling my lenses and getting the beast 50-200. i will only have three lenses now and i also put the 520 on ebay and picked up a 620, which i love.
i'm a peace with my equipment now. . no more buying/trading for a while. seller name on ebay is natural717 if anyone is interested in lenses and a body. the 620 is awesome, btw.

yes the 620 is sweet. i thought about the reach thing as well, but i'm not a birder so the 200 is great. i did check out the focal length on the 70/300 to see what the 200 would be and it's decent for what i do. can't wait for tomorrow. now watch i die in my sleep tonight.
