Default image sizes?

Is it best to shoot in higher image sizes or smaller?

I assume that your camera lets you choose between (for example) 6 meagpixels and 10 megapixels, or something like that.

May as well shoot at the largest size you can -- there's no harm in it, really, and it may help if you really want to crop.

It would be nice to get everything you can and then decide to trim down later...

Since memeory is now so large and so cheap shoot with the highest resolution and size and discard later if you don't need. It would be ashame to take that shot of a life-time at small size with low resolution.
