Great advice... All of these are great advice! I guess I was just worried about buying the Tamron. I do eventually plan on getting both the 14-24 and the 70-200mm lenses. The only reason I was thinking of getting the sooner than later is because I was worried about quality. I do portraits photography so, everything else is for fun. Maybe I'll wait or maybe I'll get the 14-24mm before I deploy. Thank you all for your advice!

Same here. That's why I use Canon 5D Mk II + 85 f/1.2 L II etc for my portraits.

BTW, the 85 f/1.4 cream machine should be the must have for Nikon FF. I'm looking into the Nikon 200 f/2 too.

A friend of mine has the Canon 5D MkII and I think it's an excellent camera. He let me test it out because of me finally getting a FF camera. He told me that D700 and the 5D MkII are close in comparison. I just hope my D700 is half of what I saw with the 5D MkII and I'll be happy...

I did get an 85mm f/1.8 for my portraits so, I'm happy about that! If I do decide to get another lens, I'm leaning more towards the 14-24mm f/2.8 because I already have a portrait lens...
