Default Nikon 55mm F/1.2

Hi guys
I saw an ads on local website selling an old Nikkor 50mm F/1.2 MF
Has anyone tried this lens before?
It's priced for only 170 AUD
How this lens performs if anyone tried it before?

Thank you

55 or 50? Your title says one thing, your post another.

I tried the old 55 and quite liked it,

summer (by inkista)
Canon XT/350D. Nikkor 55mm S f/1.2 (Fotodiox adapter ring), iso 100, f/1.2, 1/4000s.

but then I thought it might have thorium glass in it, so I returned it. It had most of the "old lens" characteristics--a little less resistance to flare from the older coatings or being non-coated, etc. Sharp. But the contrast wasn't anything to write home about. Still, the f/1.2 makes up for a lot of that.

The 50 is newer than the 55 and probably a better bet; but given the price you're mentioning, it's unlikely to be the lens you're talking about. You also want to check for AI/pre-AI. AI lenses will cause damage on the D80/D90 and above Nikon models. I didn't have to worry about it, since I was adapting for a Canon.

Hey I double checked already... It's 55 1.2... That's why it's quite cheap I reckon, I heard that Nikkor 50 1.2 is still worth around 500 bucks for the good 2nd hand
Its quite different with the one I saw in my web reference...
Thx for the reference
