What about the settings? It's about the same with most entry-level DSLR's.
As far as the noise is concerned, what are the lighting conditions you're shooting in? Plenty of light or indoors at night or what? Is the ISO set high? Noise becomes somewhat noticeable above ISO 400 and it's pretty apparent at ISO 1600 and higher. Last edited by Cojaro; 11-16-2009 at 01:23 AM. |

a d5000 has far superior iso capabilities than a D80... a D5000 has the same sensor as a D90.. the D90 just has all the good stuff like focus motor and CLS like a D80 does.
keep the D5000 as above, post a sample of what you're experiencing (with the relevant EXIF).. chances are its user error

so its better to stay to D5000. I tried with all ISO 1600up to H1, its lighter, but its still noisy. I can also swap it to D90, but only a body. is it worth it? im afraid i have to add more money.

I have a D80, D5000 and a D300 - the D5000 beats the D80 in image quality hands down. Sure it does not have all the buttons and dials of the D300 - but the image quality is just as good. Take some time to learn your D5000 it is a great camera.
