Sorry i don't know. I downloaded the manual for your camera and skimmed over features and troubleshooting and found nothing like you describe. As with anything run by batteries, take 'em out wait a minute then power it back up. Sometimes they need to be reset like that. Maybe someone else has had the same issue and can be of better help.

The thing is because it's a VR lens. When you press the shutter half-way down, the VR engages. It has a bell-curve shaped effectiveness, which means that it has a sweet spot in where its most effective which, by all accounts, is ~2 seconds after it is activated (half-press the shutter, count 1, 2, then full press). If you dont wait long enough, what happens is that the camera takes a VERY short amount of time to speed up the VR curve and delays just enough to get the VR into the nicer part of it. It's not usually all that noticeable except when youre using faster shutter speed: the camera SOUNDS like it's shooting at about 1/15-1/20, but it's at 1/200 or faster. The reason for this is that the 1/200+ speeds sound very fast, but with the VR latency it sounds very slow: its noticeable. Not to worry: it's totally normal. If you wanna have some fun to test it out, put your VR lens on, shutterspeed of 1/500 and turn the VR on. Fire in COntinuous for a few shots, then turn the VR off, and try it again. I can guarantee that the sound will be different. |
