I'm getting closer to buying my first DSLR to persue my passion in photography. Now I was going to get a NIkon D40 kit friday bit Just saw it was Discontinued. So now I am looking into a NikonD60. I'm on a budget so if I were to buy the Nikon D40 what type of problems would I run into with it since its discontinued. Stores and different reviews I've read people are still suggesting it, thanks for your help in advance!

There would really be no "problems" in buying the D40. I shoot with a discontinued D80. All the lenses and accessories will still be there and if you buy a D40 new, it'll still come with warranty, etc.

There shouldn't be a problem at all. I have a Canon film SLR that is 20 years old and it still functions with all the equipment that I have for my XTi.
