To the Nikonians, I thought this would be of interest to you just to salivate your palette.

I should have known - Sime beat me to it by 2 seconds posting it in the main DPS site. Duh me!

Move along then

I wonder who on DPS is going to be the first to get one?

Neah, you're right Jon.

Steve?

Still rather have the Canon 1Dx.

Apart from the fact you're a Canon user, what's your reasoning behind that? Looking at the specs, they seem pretty evenly matched... Only thing I will say is that Nikon has a better history of managing noise at high ISO.. I read somewhere that Canon doesn't fix fringing in camera. (Although I'm prepared to be wrong on both of those) The Canon can shoot at a whopping 14fps, compared to the Nikons 11fps, but only if you switch AF off, which basically makes this pointless. The D4 can AF down to F8, making Teleconverters up to 3x a real possibility.

The D4 isn't available for real comparisons yet, so we can only go on the paper specs, but the war seems to be about equal.. I'd be quite happy with either.. But the Nikon wins on the basis that I don't have to sell my lenses.

lol...iPad wireless control

Otherwise, it looks very similar to the Canon 1Dx...neither of which my wife will let me buy.

Sigh...I wish Canon would release a reasonably priced 5DII replacement.

And no, I don't need iPad control (my Android tablet already does this via wired USB).

Ahh.. You seem to think wireless control via an app is a new thing. DSLR Camera Control app has been available in the app store for a while.. And with the Wt-5 you get exactly that. But if you don't want to limit yourself to apple products, the D4 has HTTP mode.. For use with any browser, including your Android Tablet.

Nikon D4 offers HTTP mode, optimised for iPhone control - Pocket-lint

Yep, ordered....waiting patiently....Feb 16 is my BD...

I actually considered not ordering...getting a D3s+D3x instead; can't do it...considered giving in to the dark side (Canon) but then I would have to change my signature line...
