Default Weird color blotches 50mm 1.4D

I finally "traded up" from my 50 1.8D to the 50 1.4D (used copy) and have been testing at home. In my tests of the lens I have been getting very weird colors wide open at 1.4. This afternoon colors were coming out very red and warm at 1.4, but stopping down to 1.8 or 2.2 they improved a lot.

Just now I was testing sharpness wide open in my kitchen when i started to get this bizarre coloring as shown below. I seem to be getting a reflection from the florescent tube above in my kitchen. It occurred at diff ISO, WB, 1.4-2.2

What was the shutter speed? Florescent lights don't always put out the the same light frequency at all times. The faster the shutter speed, the more likely you catch the shift in the color balances.

I got similar yellow stripes at:
f/1.4 ISO 1000 1/1600
and
f/2.8 ISO 640 1/200

And then I put it in live view mode and recorded multiple yellow lines running down the screen.

This is your problem. Try anything below 1/60

Yep, 60 Hz flicker. That's why fluorescents give some people headaches (me included).
