Default Would the HAF4 recorder fit a D7000?

I have not got the D7000 yet,
but I know I definitely want to get a good digital audio recorder, would the Amazon.com: Zoom H4n Handy Portable Digital Recorder: Musical Instruments fit a D7000?

I have seen them attached to the top of cameras, some have a tripod mount to attach to the bottom of the camera but I want to be able to use my tripod and digital audio recorder mount at the same time.

Thanks for the info!

Contact Nikon, or the manufacturer of the recorder.

What are you going to be recording? I think a lot of the capabilities (and expense) of that thing will be wasted if you're using it as a mic plugged into the D7000. The D7000has a 3.5 mm audio jack the H4 is usb...you would need a conversion cable.

Actually, the Zoom recorders are fantastic, and have simple 3.5mm minijack lines in AND out, so you can plug directly into the camera and use it as a mic, or simply record on the Zoom itself, and sync up the soundtrack file later (that's what the USB is for).

I have the (much cheaper/lighter mere two-channel) Zoom H1, and use an adapter to mount it on the camera hotshoe, and it works ok, but not as well as placing it somewhere away from the camera. At least it doesn't pick up lens motor noises the way the built-in mic on my 5Dii will. The only really annoying issue I have with it is that it's so sensitive to wind I have to keep remembering to put its little foam hat on.

The H4N should fit on a hotshoe mount as well, but it's going to be a bit bulkier than an H1.
