Question Shaken Images

Hi all, I have 2 issues

First, Is it mandatory that we have to use tripod while shooting in low light irrespective of the modes we're taking in (except AUTO mode). How to avoid it?

Second one, I get a disturbed and shaky image when i switch AF in manual mode, even though i focus the subject in AF-AUTO and shoot in AF- manual.

Thanks in advance

Re a tripod.
It depends on:

(1) How low is the light level?.

(2) What ISO are you willing to use?

(3)How fast is the lens you are using.

(4)How good are you at hand holding with slow shutter speeds.

Try:
Maximum ISO + aperture priority (or manual exposure) + lens wide open.
If you still cannot get a high enough shutter speed to hand hold sucessfully then you will need to add more light or use a tripod and remote release.

What were you wanting to shoot?

Re the focus problem.
Your focus technique may not be up to scratch, or the camera has trouble focussing with some subjects & lighting conditions or " a disturbed and shaky image" may be due tro subject and/or camera movement.

A pic, showing the problem, along with Exif data may help us analyse the problem, and provide a solution.
