Im no expert, but how's this:

If the camera works perfectly fine for all other images (ie not macro) and you're not noticing anything out of the ordinary, Im gonna surmise this is normal; macro lenses are primes for a reason, and the long zoom Nikon puts on the L120 just isnt giving the same quality as a proper macro setup.

But... there is a lot of pretty good examples of L120 macro shots out there, and I couldn't find any complains about this king of problem.

If you are right I guess I'll settle for it, but first I'll take it to the store and compare it to another L120 just to be sure :\

Thanks OsmosisStudios, I'll update when I find out more.

Hi, it's me again, still haven't went to the store, but found this photo, it is en excellent example of what I find wrong with my L120 macro.
