Default Which Nikon lens? 50mm 1.4G, 1.8G or 35mm

Hi all, your advice qwould be SO appreciated..

I have a D7000 with the 18-105mm kit lens and do mostly maternity & baby shooting but really enjoy landscape photography. I have a budget and can't decide between the following lenses Please advise?
1) Nikon 50mm 1.4G
2) Nikon 50mm 1.8G + 35mm 1.8G

Most sites seem to prefer the 50mm 1.4G but I have read that at it is less sharp than the 1.8G wide open and is only as sharp from f4.
Although the 1.4G's bokeh is beautiful, some say that the 1.8G's bokeh is equivalent unless you enlarge alot. I've also heard the 35mm is beutifully sharp...

Many thanks,
Lizette

Why would you want 50 and 35? Instead I'd say do 35 and 85.

I second that. Although the 50mm f1.8 is cheap

35mm cause can get closer shots and more wide angle for tight spaces like babies rooms.
"Budget" is the reason the 85mm is not included, if I had the budget it would be a no brainer.
Thus 1.4G or 1.8G 50mm and 35mm. I had done the research into what I want.

A less-than-one-stop increase in light doesn't interest me much for landscapes, and razor thin DoF isn't something I often need for that subject either. For portrait work I can see a marginal increase in value from the shallower DoF, but a 1.4 is really shallow at the distances you would use a 50 for portraits.

Given only the choices you have mentioned, I'd take the 1.8 and the 35mm.

The 35mm 1.8 is very sharp, although it's bokeh is mediocre at best. I got rid of mine and bought the Samyang/Rokinon 35mm f/1.4. I did have to buy a manual focus screen for my D7000, though, but I still saved a fortune compared to the Nikon 35mm f/1.4.

Incidentally, there's also an 85mm f/1.4.

If you can deal with manual focus, they're excellent, super-sharp and very fast lenses.

I would only get the 35...
My question is why the purchase? I'm guessing it's a low light issue. If that is the case the lens purchase is more of a "short term" solution....If you "do mostly maternity and baby shoots" then it might be time to invest in/learn lighting.

Thanks so much... Mmmm yes I should start learning lighting - being a "natural light photographer" is more a "no money for lighting" story :-). Thank you all for your advice, it was really the direction I was going in. The 85mm is quite a lot more at the moment and I'd like to stick with the G.

The 85mm f/1.8D is around $450. If you're looking at the 85mm f/1.4G, then there are serious differences between the two that may not be worth it for you.
