i wanna know that , if i get refurb or used d5000 from adorama or b&h should it be safe. i mean what are the things i should look before i brought it . plz help me here. and my budget is arround 600$ with lenses.

I don't know personally about B&H, but I've bought from the used department on Adorama a lot, and I haven't had a problem. I've found their rating system is pretty accurate. I did get 1 used lens from them that I felt was worse than they rated, but just a quick phone call and I was able to return it no problem. I've gotten good products and excellent customer service from them.
As far as D3100 over D5000, I think it really depends on what you're shooting and what you want from a camera. I really think the biggest advantage of the D5000 is a swivel screen. Aside from that, they're specs are almost identical. Here is a quick snapshot of the specs of both. If you don't really need the swivel screen, save some money and get the D3100. |
